8-29-16 Texas:
A registered sex offender in Rising Star is in the hospital in intensive care after he was severely beaten by an angry father.
According to Rising Star Police, Dustin Abrams beat Larry Smith Friday night on the 100 block of South Bruce.
Police say Abrams was angry at Smith after he found out about allegations that Smith sexually assaulted Abram’s child.
Rising Star Police say there were two witnesses to the alleged sexual assault by Smith.
Abrams is charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
He has bonded out of jail on a $15,000 bond.
